You can retrofit MFSW to the manuals. A few here have done it.

The sunroof is limiting the choice.

    On Carsales:
Octavias (all variations) under $30k with Sunroof = 9
Octavias (all variations) under $30k without sunroof = 110

Does anyone know which Bluetooth module came with the Columbus in the MY11 vRS ?

In my corolla I can stream over a2dp any audio from my iPhone to the car stereo and even control from steering wheel controls (iPod, YouTube, video audio , games)

Would I be able to do that in the standard Columbus unit?

I saw that one .. But more than I'd like to spend especially after transport to Sydney and blue slip

My budget will comfortably get me a 2010 my11 wagon with a Columbus unit, that's what I'm aiming for

Independant inspection (RACV , State Roads or VW Specialists) $300
Taxi or lift to the airport = $$$???
A flight to Mel starts at $45 & tops out at $150 unless you want to travel at peak business times.
A reasonable vendor will pick you up from the airport
Fuel for the trip home would be <$100
Stop somewhere if you don't enjoy driving home in one hit - <$100
    A Blue slip is $60

    $500-$1k extra & you haven't negotiated on purchase price yet - I bet there's $1-2k wiggle room

don't know if it was the 9w2 or 9w7 unit that was fitted from factory.
btw - MY11 did not come with bluetooth standard. this was introduced from MY12.
the columbus was made std on the MY11.

    i retrofitted a 9wz unit to mine. i have an MY11.

Hi guys , no having much luck finding a wagon ..

Just wondering are hatches any harder to sell later as I see there's many more of them selling and been listed for ages and ages...

Is there much difference in the ride and handling between hatch and wagon?

The Wagon is heavier but still handles very well indeed

I bought my MY12 two years ago for $32k
There are MY11 and MY12 listings still asking 28k~34k
The second hand Octavia's seem to be a tad over priced

    I'll say!
That said there's been a couple of good buys that I missed out on because I wasn't ready to buy yet.
ie. 19-20K for a My11 Wagon with low kms

Hatch is about 75kg lighter IIRC. The 75kg is all up high & behind the rear wheels so maybe you'd notice it if you were really punting along.

Don't buy a hatch if you really need a wagon as you will curse everytime you want to put a big square box in the back.

Keep in mind that the wagon was a $1700(?) premium so if your willing to pay $25k for a hatch you should bump your max for the wagon to $26500.

IMO, you need to look beyond Sydney and trust in a 3rd party inspection.
