    Thanks vEnOm_oz!

I now have something appear for my VIN on the Skoda update portal, whereas there was nothing earlier this morning.

The current installed version is ROW 2014/2015 and looks like there is now a ROW 2015 version appear on the portal.

Although I am surprised why it is not showing a later version than ROW 2015, and also says my subscription has expired 25/05/2015 - just 2 months after I took delivery of the car brand new!!!

Looks like there's more to go before a full resolution...

I made an email Enquiry and got a call this morning. Basically, there is an update due mid-November to early December. The portal is not going to be used in Australia but they want to make it easier to update maps for AU customers then it is currently, apparently it is time consuming for dealers to do it. Not only will maps be updated but it seems there is a significant system update planned. The CSR couldn't say if it would be DIY or through dealer though not if there would be cost.

Sounds good but the only issue is whether a big system update would play funny with any VAGCOM mods such as traffic activation which is not standard in Skoda. Hold tight but I've heard this before although he was pretty confident and certain. Impressed with customer service.

I was told that when the update comes, traffic alerts would be rolled into it.

It will likely not be happening, but I've been hoping that bluetooth carplay would get enabled at some point. It was always built into the spec and the iPhone iOS9 activated it on the phones but haven't heard of any systems actually using it.

Well, I am not holding my breath that the muppets at VW can do something/anything on this subject!!! It has taken them only 2 years to get this far.

They just don't even have the courtesy to reply to my emails anymore, and that includes the servicing dealer Peninusula VW/Skoda. I have been copying the MD of Skoda on this topic too... and guess what? Nothing from his team either. So the poor customer service must stem from top - down.

Fairly certain this will be my last VAG car in our family.

I just received the same call from Skoda customer care stating that there is an update for end Nov early December which will be through the dealership which will require a software update to "align" all of the systems.

When I picked up my new Octavia on Friday I asked the saleman about this rumoured upgrade. He hadn't heard anything about it, but then did say that it tallies with a '25th November' date the service manager has pinned on his wall (or something like that)...

It has taken them years to do an update and not one person on this forum to my knowledge has ever managed a successful map update.

I've certainly managed a successful map update myself and I'm sure others have too, via the Skoda Portal, but perhaps that's not what you meant?
