New Nav map available in Skoda update portal

This is certainly the right file for my vehicle. If you want to make sure that it is right update for your unit then go to update page, put in your VIN and it will verify for you the correct file. My VRS169 has the Columbus media unit if that info is any help to you.

I accidentally installed it twice, it looked like it hadn't done it, and it turns out it will just install it over and over again with this update even if it has worked....

Installing the MRM 2018 map update on my 2016 Scout. Wasn't expecting to be available until next month but it was on the portal when I checked this afternoon. All going smoothly so far. ��

Seems like the new map is out, but wont install right, AU Skoda said go to dealer LOL helpful bunch they are, no doubt will want $$$ for there time

the new 2018/19 P71 MRM Maps will not work until Skoda fixes it in the portal.
trying to update will produce the following error:-


The MRM source file in the update portal is the fault here.
Not the download method.
Not the extracter.
Not the unpacker.
Not the sd-card/usb.


The P71 MRM update is failing in the Columbus because it is missing an entire folder called "Truffles", normally inside the Mib2 folder.
The metainfo2 file in Mib2 makes reference to that folder, but it doesn't exist with the P71 update - hence the error.

In the previous map updates, i.e. P65 and P68, this Truffles folder was present.


so no matter wat u do, the Columbus will say "no deal".
copying the Truffles folder from a previous map update will fail as it is specific to each map build.

i've emailed Skoda CZ this morning. They have advised they'll get back to me shortly.
Skoda Aus, aka VW Aus, have no idea, saying to "contact your dealer"!!! numpties!!!

there are two map files - one for Europe, and another for RoW (Rest Of the World).
Australia falls in the RoW bucket.
Hence the fix won't be specific to just us.
question is how much are people in RoW complaining, or reporting the error.
