Keep in mind that if the speedo is anything like my Octavia 1.8TSI then he really only got to 210kph. I've had mine to 180kph (actual) and the vidoe isn't lieing about how slow thing get after 160(ish).

And yes, my 180kph didn't break any road rules as I have access to some private roads but the kangaroos can be a problem.

I think the change in directors delayed launches of everything in oz from memory. Yes it was supposed to be here already. I'm wondering whether the delay is due to some shakeups. I had my first ever survey after a service recently.

According to the latest Wheels mag it's still listed to launch March/April with the Octavia mid year. They have a reasonable first drive write up on the Octavia this month as well.

Yep. I heard they are billing it as the launch of the fastest vRS yet at the Festival of Speed.

I find it strange that Skoda puts all of these expensive features (the radar cruise control, auto high-beam, 9 airbags, etc) in the car, yet something as simple as a rear-view camera (standard on quite a selection of its rivals) isn't found at all on the new Octavia, let alone any new Skoda. I hate to reignite the rear camera debate, but the Octy II has terrible rear vision and a rear camera would have saved many bumps (for my mum) on our Skoda; where is it? Surely a rear camera is a must for families?
