nice promo clip!

nice video.
"later on, Skoda will enhance the range with its flagship RS (vRS in the UK) model powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged engine featured in the next Golf GTI."
i'm also certain that the RS will get a detuned (less kW) ECU software than the GTi, just like it is now.

I could be wrong, but I was under the impression that for marketing purposes they don't say its the same kW as the Golf, but it actually was. It didn't apply with the former Mk Vs, so not sure why they did it. Probably due to the boss of VW getting peeved that SKodas were selling so well.
nice video!
for some reason the side profile makes me think of a cross between the new jetta and an A5 sportback.

incorrect.
it's certainly different between the mk6 gti & the fl rs.
the gti engines are tagged "CCZB"
the rs engines are tagged "CCZA".
u can c this (version) on the engine, build plate etc etc.
both are exactly the same engine i.e. EA888 2 litre turbo
however the diffenence is in the ecu software tune (the last letter in the engine version).
A = 147kW (200hp)
B = 155kW (210hp)
when u do an ecu tune - the end figures r the same for both.
its a purposeful tactic - as u said, for VW to have the upper hand.

Good vid. I really like the lines of that car and I like that they've played it safe with a more ageless look (seems the Rapid is the best guess at it's final destination).
But that doesn't explain why the Jetta 2.0TSI/GLI in the US (wish we got that here...) has the same power figure as the RS, yet the GTI has more. Skoda need to do another Octavia RS-P and this time actually put it into production. They need some cool factor and I'm not sure this new Octavia will bring it (of course, we haven't actually seen it).
