you know the wires coming from the burner to the plug, that plug will come apart and you can pop the wires through a small hole, big enough only to push the boot through.

i think i know what its gonna look like in there! I might get some hi-temperature 3M tape to hold the burner in place - if its what im thinking of.

    appreciate the instructions!

Seriously, It's the easiest thing ever. I will post a write up with pictures later and link you through to it. Even if you don't end up doing it, still might help someone I guess

    No worries.

I decided to not splice anything in, so I can still take it to warranty and say "I don't know whats going on, can you fix this please?"
Already had to do it once, so... :S

If either the ballast, or the bulb has failed, it'll throw a bulb error on the dash.

Had it happen today, after burning some big muddy tracks up someone's slushy backyard, and then back down again.
It must be said, though, for what the stock Dunlops are... They go alright on grass/dirt/mud.

Got home and something must have dried out, because both low (dipped, its called on the MFD) beam headlights were working perfectly.

I just found this to be a problem that I cannot nut out....care to share a pic of what you did with the bulb holder??

Nope...don't do anything yet....I'll cut and solder the globe wires!!

Buggar!! No go.... got globe error on dash! Have reverted back to stock for now.

Seen somewhere there is a Xenon Headlight check box in the diagnostics(??) that may need checking to overcome the error?? I have a VAG Diagnostics cable and software from VAG Diagnostics in the UK on the way and will check when it arrives - hopefully this week....

yes there is, it MAY help with the error, but AFAIK all it does is move the CH/LH lights to the fogs instead of the headlights

I don't have a bulb out error, at all.

This may seem like an entirely stupid question, but... You did re-attach the cables the right way 'round, right??
I've done it before. Its embarrassing.

I'll post some pics tomorrow, its a little late now.

Nah...fair question to ask! All cables attached correctly AFAIK. The error could be die to my soldering job on the globe wires. I'll check when I get back home from bus trip later this week.

Though I do have another thought ....maybe it could be that my ballasts are AC not DCthus causing the error??
