so wat happens if u place ur order pre-jun, and the car won't b built until another month or two?
do i get to re-negotiate my satnav upgrade pricing option? hehehehehe

i checked the skoda website (Å*koda Auto - The new Å*koda Octavia - Comfort), and it says the octavia will now come standard with amudsen satnav. no mention of the rs getting the columbus as standard.

i ordered my rs with the columbus satnav - i better get that one, not the lower spec'ed amudsen satnav!!!


they also mention that xenons are now standard for the rs! i had ordered my rs with xenon upgrade option.......can i go back and re-negotiate on this?!?!?!

they also mention that 17" are now stardard for both the rs (tdi & tsi)!!!! i better get mine with 18s!! according to the PDF document - "NewOctaviaRS_Catalogue_ENG". but the website states them to have 18s - Å*koda Auto - The new Å*koda Octavia - RS

Go and talk to your dealer, before you have an anurisim from worrying too much.

Most dealers are human, and should be able to work out what your getting or not..

My dealer has confirmed that anything ordered after 30th June will be MY11 and will have SATNAV as standard on the RS which is what i have just ordered (again , but thats another thread).

Is there any truth to the rumour that all MY11 Octavia (standard and RS) will come with SATNAV as standard. MY11 apparently commences with June 2010 build. Are any of the dealers aware of this?

After reading this thread and worrying my car will be delivered with a crap GPS unit, I spoke with the Skoda product manager for Australia & he confirmed that all MY11 Octavia RS's will have the Columbus 30GB HDD GPS unit as standard equipment.
This is after I spoke to my dealer who was unsure as to what the word "Columbus" actually referred to... That was comforting...

so it depends when the order was put in.....not when the car is going to be built!?!?
i.e.:-
- ordered before 30 june, built after 30 june = MY10
- ordered after 30 june, built after 30 june = MY11

if that's the case, then i may not be able to re-negotiate my final price as i ordered the 'columbus' as an added option.

MY11 cars are manufactured from June 1st 2010... If you ordered a car in late April or early May 2010 chances are it will be an MY11 as it takes around 5-7 weeks for the car to be manufactured from the time you sign the contract of sale.

A quick chat to your friendly dealer will confirm if your car is an MY10 or an MY11 as they are able to look it up on the Skoda ordering system...

I don't even want to think when mine is scheduled... Ordered 22nd July; delivery before I'm dead hopefully. There will probably be an all new model out by the time it arrives!

You'll wear a track to your Skoda dealer leaving sticky finger marks on the car windows. I know I did when enduring a 3.5 month wait last year for my RS!

I can live without the GPS anyway (refidex is cheaper) BUT if I could get an AWD RS wagon (with some of the RS-P mods) I'd be a happy little camper!
