    My wife's car...

    Hi guys,

Thought I'd share a couple of photos of our Octavia RS.

I've been on this forum for about a year. Being a “car enthusiast” I originally joined so I could tag along to a few happy laps sessions since I wanted to see how our other VAG car went on the track.

About the same time we started thinking about replacing my wife's Suzuki Swift with something a bit bigger since our first child was on the way. We looked at quite a few wagons including the Octaiva, Mazda 6, Liberty and Mondeo. My wife wasn't all that fussed, a car is a car right?

I'd meet Aaron (redline3345) at the Happy Lap Sessions and had seen his silver wagon. I had also spoken to Guy at Harding Performance about their RS and both had said how happy they were with them.

However since the Octavia RS was just outside our budget, we had all but signed the contract on a Mazda 6 turbo diesel, but I thought I'd have one last look on carsales and spotted a white Octavia RS demo with about 80kms on it. I rang the dealer to see how negotiable they might be and drove over that day. After a bit of haggling and "convinceyourbetterhalf.com.au", we signed the contract on the Octavia and picked up the car in early October.

Below is a pic of the car at the dealership.

Now being a “car enthusiast” had I mentioned earlier, and having other modified and sport orientated cars, as much as I pretended, standard was just not going to cut it, so below is how our Octavia sits today which is part way towards the goal. And thankfully my wife loves the car.

Looks good, are the b & c pillars done in vinyl or are they clip on covers? Any closeup pics of the detail where they meet the top and bottom of the doors?

For some reason the tint windows look photoshopped.

Thanks for the comments guys. I've taken a couple of styling cues from the RS-P.

Ha, no trick photography, photoshopping or illegal mods. The tint is 35%. The tint is black, but I think it is a combination of the angle, the time of day with good reflections, and the fact that I used my phone to take the picture (it's overexposed), are the reasons why the tint looks so dark.

I'll do a few more mods and use an SLR next time. But just looking at doing cosmetic mods while the car is under warranty.

And to answer your question rc_vRS, if you can go for the vinyl. You'll are a better result in my opinion, but I went for the cheaper option as this build is on a very tight budget.

Looking awesome mate! The car looks lowered, what suspension changes did you make? The height looks perfect.
