    My Skoda Merchandise Story

My neighbour wanted to buy me some Skoda stuff for my birthday. He couldn't believe how difficult it was to do so.

    1) He rang Skoda. They told him to look at the website & ring some dealers.

    2) He rang some dealers.
Dealer 1 had him on hold for 20 minutes (let's call it 10 because I know this guy exagerates & he values his time becaause it's worth lots). And they had nothing.

Dealer 2 wasn't much better. They had "a few things". So he drove 20km to buy me a hat & a key ring.

Obviously Skoda owners are very low-key folk.
The keyring is a leather thong with a matt aluminium disc & the Skoda logo embossed in grey. The two materials are so similar in colour you have to look at the keyring in a strong light to see if there is any logo present.
The baseball cap is a nice grey colour with creme piping. The Skoda logo is stitched in creme on a grey background. This is under the adjustment strap & upside-down. The only way that you know this is a Skoda fanboi product is to take your cap off and hold it out as if you are begging.

    Yet again, Skoda marketing fail.

I don't want to be full-on, but would be happy to buy some of the merchandise available overseas - especially some of the skoda.de stuff. I love the fact that it is low key.....

This stuff is so under the radar you are ploughing dirt.

My mate was telling all my other mates about the Skoda cap he bought me & they are asking where it is & I'm wearing the dam thing. They thought it was a jolly joke.

I have two Skoda caps, one the type you are mentioning, a little model car Skoda and the keyring you mentioned. They left them in the car for me one time after having my car locked up all weekend instead of fixing it on the Friday I brought it in. I cracked it so that was to make me happy. I would have rathered a cargo net instead, but they were ok. One Skoda hat is really low key, the other its an obvious one.

This thread reminds me of when we picked up our S3 and I was looking at the range of Audi branded products available at the dealer and noticed that I could buy a leather iPod case for $50 more than the iPod to go in it would have cost!

Sounds similar to my story. I gave the dealer a list of accessories I wanted, but I think only the boot mat was the only one that they could get.

I've resorted to trying to obtain them from overseas, which is a pain in itself, since most of them don't reply or can't be bothered...

I've bought stuff from SuperSkoda. They don't have everything, and some things are a bit on the exxy side.

Have also had a chat with the guys running octavia-rs.com shop and they are pretty good too. They were very communicative, but were mostly merchandising stuff
