The clicON mounts are pretty good, the original guys who sell them here were Proclip, not sure if they still do or are cheaper. I noticed in the new OCtavia they come with a phone holder that goes in the cupholder ala as per above. The cupholders look identical so I suspect we can just buy them as a part. I think the proclip attachment down near the gearknob is still the best point. I've debated getting one for both my last two cars.

    Guys,
Thanks for this. Some other options to look at once I get home and off satellite internet speed / download quota. I have ordered another ebay holder that cost 3 cups of coffee (that will likely not work but will give it a go) while I decide if the cost of the IP / neat/clean installation is worth it (I am thinking yes). Problem with cup holder mounts is that I use the cup holders, and I think the phone would be a little to low to be useable?

Hawk – sounds like you have a nice clean install. I know its Golf v Octavia, but does the centre angle mount interfere with the passenger at all?

That was one of my concerns as I was originally looking for something to sit on the drivers side of the RNS screen, but it seems to work fine with no issue from passengers.
