guys
it's a mechanics joke (like a dad's joke but stupider). I'm not being serious.

heh, sorry should have been clearer... 22.5cc per cylinder, comes from 90cc total (the difference between the 2.0l tdi and the 1.9 is 90cc - 1986-1896).
Anyway, 90cc of STEEL weighs about 200g.... so basically all i was saying is that if you bored out a 1.9 block to 2.0l (to the exact size they are from VW) the 2.0L block would only be about 200grams lighter.

Don't forget the 22PSI of boost... If the turbo is roughly 16 square inches, thats a total of 774.4kg!!
Actually, I've been recently wondering if its possible to bore out the heads on the TDI to make it a 2.2 or so.
I'm still a bit antsy that my new shiny European sports wagon has less power/torque/capacity than my Kia SUV that I traded in.
125kW/350Nm/2.0ltr
146kW/436Nm/2.2ltr
I know its just bragging rights, but hey!!
2012 Octavia vRS TDI. Darkside big turbo, 3bar tune, other stuff. 200kW/650Nm.
1990 Mk1 Cabrio. 1.9 IDI w/ 18PSI.
1985 Mazda T3500 adventuremobile. 1973 Superbug. 1972 Volvo 144 in poo-brown.
Not including hers...
youd probably want to bore the cylinders and not the heads for a large displacement lol
also, a stroker kit would make things easier!
