Yeah. I'd go ahead and try to stick to Skoda bits... At least until they aren't enough.
Keeps the dealership happier.
I think you are right - 90tsi is 50mm. Get the calipers out & check.

they will fit no doubt.
the question though, and my concern would b the spring load rating.
the vrs is heavier than the 1.4tsi, and as such the springs r designed to handle more load.
if u put it on the 1.4tsi, it will probably remain at the same height cause it ain't heavy enough to weigh down the springs?
or maybe it will actually drop by 12-15mm?
dunno.
happy for u to try it out. if its all good & ur happy with it, u can pay me - otherwise just return the springs.
i'm usually up in sydney once a month. where abouts r u in "nsw"?

I put 2.0TFSI VRS springs in my 1.9TDI and the front ended up about 5mm higher than stock.... like I said in an earlier post - theres a big difference in the tare axle loads for all the different octavias, so the rates are all quite different.

thought just as much.
i did some number crunching, and it turns out the 147tsi liftback is "lightweight" in comparison to the other octavia models!!
the 103tdi takes the belt for heavy weight champion.
weird though, as it contradicts the weight loading for the springs & the tyres aswell..........

My info seems very different from yours Darkshadow
Unfortunately Mysticality, i reckon you have the heavyweight
Logically - the 125TDI is the monster engine - has all the diesel weight with the larger turbo and more complex emissions system. The 147 petrol isnt far behind because it too is a complex engine with plenty of valves and big manifolds etc. Add to that the luxury models having all the extra weight of climatronic and bigger wheels, even the weight of nice upholsery if you have leather (is that an option?) and things get heavy.
According to my info, if you want a lightweigh octy, you should have gone for one ofthe low power european models - like the 1.4l 59kw petrol with 5 speed manual - 1230 liftback and 1245 for the combi.

weird how all that extra air space in the cylinders weighs so much.......

The difference in bore between the 2.0 and the 1.9 tdi's is pretty small (they have the same stroke) and each cylinder is only about 22.5cc bigger.... thats less than 200grams difference if the block was exaclty the same in all other respects
Whereas, the 8V head is a fair bit more compact than the 16V and weighs a lot less. The biggest weight differences are in the gearboxes though.

how do you know that the 22.5cc of air weighs 200grams?........
