Sorry guys, I haven't been able to test it yet. Will try to do it over the weekend. I've finished downloading, maybe wait till I confirm. Cheers.
It unzips ok, I'm loading tomorrow as you can't use tge nav when updating it.
After trying for the second time, still corrupted download. Oh wells, maybe another time. =(
Take 3. Now trying the skoda download manager.
I don't like my chances...sigh...60gb of data and 15 hours of downloading wasted. Boo!
Windows won't unzip the file - maybe it's too big for that built in archiver? 7zip, Winrar or Mac/Linux will unzip the file fine.
Reichter, what are you using to unpack the zip file? The Skoda download manager does the unpacking for you after the download, otherwise use WinRar.
I only have a 64 GB SD card with me and I'm getting an error when I try to update the maps. Maybe a 32 GB card formatted as Fat32 is the way to go.
Smart1, how did your update go with the 32 GB card?
Are you able to ignore (delete) the files which are not for Australia?
Under the MARKETS folder are the different countries...
If you just leave the AUS folder and delete the rest you should have the files you need (don't delete the dbinfo file in the root of the folder).
Then you only need to copy ~500MB to the SDcard.
Note that I haven't got a MKIII Columbus to test this, have only looked at the structure of the update...
I have to wander to the shops and get another 32 gig SD card as my spare has gone missing. I'll try it out later today. I have a couple of 8 gig ones here so i'll try your suggestion Kamold this afternoon as well.
When I checked the ROW zip folder there were a total of 3 items - 2 folders (Mib1, Mib2) and a file (metainfo2.txt).
Are these the items you have as well? Just wanted to confirm I'm not missing any files.
Finally....download worked using the skoda downloader. Was able to extra onto 64gb sd card. but when inserted into car and following the update steps, it says "no data available".
I think i read somewhere a 32gb sd card has to be used, not a 64gb one.
*UPDATE: Tried a 32gb sd card, still "no data available".
Going to give up on this one. Maybe the dealer can do it for me during a service in 12 months time.
