Hi everybody,
Has anybody done any upgrades in the brakes department? I'm feeling that the stock rotors/pads on my 2016 MK3 Octavia aren't as good as they could be. This could also be my other car has EBC Greenstuffs which doesn't help me when I swap between them.
I'm not doing hardcore driving but I do notice the stock pads aren't amazing, whats the consensus out there?

I've not done any upgrades but I did feel that the braking power was a bit sub standard at first, seems to have improved after about 5k though. Still doesn't feel as though it will stop as hard as my wife's Golf 7 though.

I have a Mk 2 RS. I swapped out the front rotors for Adams Slotted ones.
The brakes are fantastic and if anything a little too sensitive at times.
I found that without suspension upgrades and heavy breaking at high speeds the tail of the car gets a bit lite.
It made my pucker muscle work overtime.
The dust is an issue, I have bendix ultimates to go on at the moment which i've been told aren't all that they are advertised to be.

I never found brakes an issue on my Mk2 RS and or on my Mk3 RS. Overbraked comes to mind even. I have a Hyundai Santa Fe diesel which gets going pretty fast but has had its moments where I thought for sure it would never stop.....never even come close to having to hit the RS brakes hard, they stop pretty fast.
It's probably the pads don't suit your driving style.
If you drive hard they will only last about 30,000km. After that throw them away and fit good pads & DBA rotors.
As a long shot, have a look with VCDS and see where the brake sensitivity is set.

Oh the dust never changes between my mk3 and mk2, I got the black pack to try and hide it a bit more in my mk3. Pretty much always have 4 black spots on my driveway where I wash the car as well.
The brakes on the mk2 RS r brilliant.
Tis a shame about the brake dust though.
Infact the brake cylinder on mk2 RS is the same as that found on the R and the S3. The mk6 GTi has a smaller brake cylinder, even though they have the same calipers & rotors.
I've got slotted rotors up front now, same size as the stock ones. Purely for looks.
