It's the actual turbo failing - quality control issue

Assuming the turbos are identical, which they should be, unless there is something else different it would stand to reason that the Octavias will start seeing the issue as well. It could just be a numbers game, the RS came out later than the Mk7 Gti.

They are identical. There has been multiple revisions. Currently at revision G. I have the previous revision T turbo with 18k, 11 of which have been running a tune.

I think its a luck of the draw. Some running old revisions have no issues others running new revisions do.

Sounds like they are not even close to solving it then. Bugger.

There have been no reported revision G failures, so maybe they have.

Hope so, I won't be ordering until late this year to get an early 2016 build so hopefully they have resolved it all by then.

Failing turbo... Had a cracked manifold on my mk6 118. Smoked like a Mofo when cold. So bad it evacuated the service centre!
