    Lumbar support – vRS

    Dear all,

When you adjust your lumbar support does it actually change anything? – that is reduce/increase support. Mine does not seem to on either passenger or drivers side.

I assume leather & fabric seats are just different covers on the same seat?

    Thanks

I think there is a difference, one extreme to the other, but to be honest I'm about 85% sure that its just a placebo.

I think the way the lumbar support adjustment works is that the adjustment knob simply adjusts the tension on a strap running across the seat squab. There is a difference, but it's not huge.

When I first got my Ocy I didn't notice a difference and told the dealer at the first service. They confirmed the lumbar mechanism wasn't working and fixed it. Now I can feel the difference but it's not a huge amount.

I also did not notice much of a difference at all!...thought it was just me being stupid (not like the princess and the pea?...anyone?....)
I came from the tiguan, and the lumbar adjustments in that is very noticeable...

Well, was in for the 30000 km service today, and had it confirmed that the lumbar support is not functioning.

Part(s) ordered, booked in for fix in about 3 weeks.

Thanks for your input - much appreciated. (I was however expecting the "its as it should be......").

Oh Dunlop RS....I wish you well.....

If you find my old post in the Tiguan section about my seat issues.... (Tigger), please read it so you can be ready to oversee the work done on the removal of your seat.

I dont mean to scare you, but just want to pre warn you and insist that they take care...

    Well,
It’s now confirmed that "we" have a placebo / claytons lumbar support. After all the hassle of a visit to the shop for the repair today it was replaced with no difference - & confirmed that it is the same as the new ones (I know I should have checked that first….).

Had mine replaced in my Scout some time ago because I read on Briskoda that they can be faulty and I felt no adjustment occurring. After being fixed I now feel minimal adjustment but at least its something.
