    Looks ugly, but it's a real ball-tearer

Ok let me just make it clear Zoo magazine is not my regular read, but the front cover caught my eye on the weekend (not coz of the grungy chick with the boosted cleavage on the front, I swear!)...it announced that they were listing their "Top 20 cars under $50k".

Opening it up, I was surprised to see the Skoda Octavia RS in amongst the Renault Sport Meagane 250, Scirocco R, Toyota 86, Golf GTI, Audi A1 Sport, FJ Cruiser etc etc..they say "available in boring sedan or oddly cool wagon, the RS is a practical performance car you might be able to slip past your missus"...and it "looks ugly but it's a real ball tearer".

Ugly? I guess it's no work of art but each to their own!

I was just surprised honestly that a Skoda made the list, esp in a fairly blokey Aussie publication like this!

Mine doesn't particularly like the vRS... But she was in love with the Sorento I had before it. Mainly cause of its size, and pretty much "go anywhere" attitude.

And hang on... Ugly? Not in your life. Its beautiful.

Not sure about the facelift, but the pre FL won several "worlds most beautiful car" awards... which probably qualifies it for ugly

anyway, against some of the other cars in that list you mentioned, the octavia (in any guise) is positively handsome.

And the Toyota 86 isn't ugly? Too busy looking at other things IMO.

Mine prefers the 185kW of her S3 or riding her Ducati.
I can't see how the Octavia can be describes as ugly in an article that includes the FJ Cruiser.

Well if I was ever looking for an excuse to go out and buy a Zoo magazine, there it is! It is lunch time so I am off to the Newsagent (just need to bring it back into the office in a brown paper bag...).
