Commodore and Falcon wheels are regularly stolen because they are used on trailers. There are very few instances of other vehicles having wheels stolen and in my experience of my last two cars having factory lock nuts they are a pain in the rectum whenever you take the car in for service or a tyre change.

I agree that these days one hardly hears about 'mags' getting stolen, but I just feel why take a chance. Its better to be safe than sorry, and I hear that replacement 18th Neptunes from the dealer are about $500 each!
Also since the bolts are currently on speacial in US, I was thinking - why not?

Don't forget another $250 or so (I'm guessing) for the tyre. I've never seen a wheel thief take just the rim and leave the rubber.

I must be one of the only victims here, when i took ownership of my 05 BSpec Liberty, 14 days later I found it on wheels jacks in our security carpark in Camperdown with all 4 18" wheels gone. I looked at lock nuts after this but all the tyre dealers sort of iterated that if they want them they will get them even with lock nuts.

I'm not going to bother with lock nuts for the RS even though i've had it happen. I did look at the McGard's back then and they seemed to be the best at the time.
