Last 2 fillups > rs 125kw tdi dsg wagon

    My last 2 Fills
    1) 645.5km for 43.58 litres
    2)640.2km for 39.73 litres
USE > Maroubra Beach to Blacktown return daily, easy morning traffic against the flow on Eastern Distributor & M2 but lousy stop start on way home from end Lane Cove tunnel till I get off Eastern Distributor & test pilots daily trying to see if 125KW goes as good as 147!
Cannot wait to see how economical on highway use over this next 10 days

    Great fuel economy all round.
Thats the breeding of a good european engine with lots of development costs.

Given the usage & the fact it's probably not run-in, that's not bad at all.......

My 1.8TSI gets over 700km from 45-50 litres all the time. If I'd bought the diesel, I'd hope it would regularly get 900-1000km from 50 litres.

Last fill up in the tdi jetta was 45.9L for 838km. That was driving Toowoomba to Canberra. Would have gotten 1100kms. Jetta has 55L tank.

    Skoda superb 125 TDI sedan.
Sydney to Melbourne on less than one tank, under 80kmph in NSW and under 110 in Vic. The car was carrying 4 full sized adults and boot packed to the brim.

    Amazing fuel economy.

Average calculations resulted in 5.2 l/100 Km

You drove all the way to Albury from Sydney under 80KPH? Not worth the fuel saving to do that. I think I am about to do the same trip in the same car at 10 kph over the speed limits all the way and it will be interesting to see the difference if I have to do it. Mind you I am pedalling at a million miles an hour to avoid it as the trip is one I hate, boring as hell mixed up with all the roadworks in NSW unless they have finished of course.

Not in city traffic you wouldn't. You might squeeze 800 km but you'd need to be carrying a 5 liter can of fuel in the boot.

Hmmm - I'm getting about 650-700 out of the TSI in mixed city driving (which is exceptional as my Fiesta was around the same).

Probably not, but for my driving conditions 800-1000 should/would be doable if the 1.8TSI gets 700+ easily.
