    Knocking noise

Aaah well the problems seem stacking up like no tomorrow, and since the car is only 3 weeks old it's starting to get to me now.

This morning I've noticed that by low speeds I get a knocking sound from the front on bumpy roads. This was never the case before.

Any idea what this might be??

It really seems I bought a lemon, so I need to see if I can take this higher up as I can't keep driving in & out of dealerships to get my car fixed.

I've just rang Skoda and told them my concerns in regards to the car and that this is problem #3 in 3 weeks exactly. I told them that I'm up to the point of demanding a replacement car (a new one). The lady on the phone agreed that there were too many problems for a brand new car and the case manager will call me back either today or Monday.

    I'll keep you posted!!

Mine had more of a rubber bush creak/squeak. Not sure if yours is anything like that? There was a thread on Briskoda about this and a culprit identified from a service bulletin on various VW models. Skoda dealer, however, refused to accept the Octavia suspension was related. They repeatedly tightened and lubed the LHS front suspension. It never went away because a bush should have been replaced but also never affected the way the car drove either.

Otherwise, whatever is causing your sound might genuinely just require tightening and/or lubing...

mine has a clicking noise that can b heard at very low speeds, while turning.
i had it checked & was told by vw its fine. its just the springs turning against the strut top.

Haha good luck getting a new car out of them, I bet you $10000000000000 that will never happen! I have the same knocking sound from mine; I just thought it was normal and they service guys have also said the same thing; that it's normal.
As for your other problems, the wastegate rattle is very annoying I must admit, but it doesn't affect performance in any way. VW/Audi have even gone to the length of saying that the noise is completely normal in standard operation, with the clip being an OPTIONAL fix.
Maybe you should have spent the extra money and bought the Audi equivalent (A4) that comes with all of the added sound proofing so you can't hear the running gear of the Skoda???

I had creak coming from somewhere near the back spring on the drivers side, they did nothing to fix it, and the passenger side does it as well. Its only when getting in and out you hear it so no biggy, but they never narrowed down what did it (it didn't always make that sound) and since the passenger rear side also does it (you can make the sound by pushing up and down on the car) I figured it was dust or something getting in somewhere and creaking.

I've never asked if anyone else had it, incidentally my new Santa Fe makes much the same creak from new in the rear....same place it sounds like too...

you're right, but so many issues in 3 weeks isn't normal for still a pretty expensive car.

Well first I'm taking it into Trivett on Tuesday, and then we'll see what happens. If the car is totally fixed then I'll stop complaining. Until then, I'll keep hasseling everything I can

I've got that too, I just figured I'm too fat LOL. I try not to worry about stuff like that. Ultimately all mechanical things make noises, its the ones that I hear from the cabin (the squeaking leftside dash is annoying when it happens, but quickly fixed) or sound like they are doing some damage that I worry about.

130,000km in, and the most annoying noise my octavia is making is the button on the handbrake lever makes a bit of a buzz when the car is cold (like inside..)... haha.
