Budget Direct, they have provision for a hire car (extra ~$1/wk). They were very good with a small accident I had a couple of years ago.

GIO, $980 yearly. I wouldn t touch Budget Direct, or read the fine print if you do. They want to insure your car for market value and when you call up to see what their market value is ,it will make you cry. Its not worth saving a couple of hundred only to find that your car is WAY underinsured when it is written off.

Thats where to start IMO. Insure for agreed value. Check and reassess it every year. I've heard stories of very large bills after a write offs to cover leases/loans.Originally Posted by Antiplastix

That's what I thought with AAMI, first 2 years are replacement, until I read the PDS. On AAMI, the first 2 years are replacement with the same options and accessories, but the car must be available locally, or they will pay out rather than order. Considering that the payout figure is over 10k less that what I paid for it, and knowing that with the options I have, it wont be available locally, I decided not to go with them...
So, I'm still looking. Still have a couple of weeks... The GIO site keeps on coming up with errors
