    Insurance

    Hey all,
I'm in the market for a new insurer for my modified vRS.
Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the subject?

I know it's best to be in an Auto club when going with mobs like Shannon's, so is this the best option for me? If so can anyone give me a heads up on how I join a car club in Victoria?

Any advice would be most appreciated.
    Thanks guys.

I just got my Skoda Octavia vRS GIAC tuned yesterday!

For insurance, I went with NRMA. They are now doing unlimited modifications aslong as the car is road worthy! Not only did GIO, our previous insurer, charge more to begin with - they wanted to add $150 a year ontop for the modification....plus $200 excess if we have an accident!!!

With my last bunch of modified cars, I would stay away from NRMA but now with their unlimited mods...I will be staying with them!

Conversely, I'm with GIO because NRMA wanted $400 more for worse cover.

I think Melbournites usually get a good deal out of RACV.

Shannons are good but whether they want you depends on who you speak to on the day. They were good value when I had the Liberty & the Cabrio & the parking was secure but the moment I had to park on-street at work (change of jobs), they didn't want to know.

NRMA were by far the cheapest for our VRS. $850, I think they were which was way less than most. Agreed value. They all have a pretty quick calculator on-line.

Ours is $1250, but that is 1 under 25 driver with an accident.
