I considered doing a Bluetooth unit install myself. The donkey work is straight forward enough, but I would have still needed to get it coded to work via the steering wheel. There are plenty of sites telling how easy this job is, but the reality is that like bomb disposal, it's only easy once you know how. The overseas sites Briskoda, myGTI, and a South African one all differ when it comes to coding, and then there are issues with pin placements for existing Columbus voice recognition mics for differing harnesses, and whether you have an MDI or not. And whichever set up you have, there is no such thing as plug and play, no matter what a seller tells you. If you have a genuine VAG BT unit then you may find the following of some use.

I had an experience with a "VAG specialist" who said it was the same as the Golf so it'd be "no problem". He spent over 2 hours with the dash apart, then told me that he was having problems and could I bring the car back the next week. When I rang the day before the agreed day, he wanted to do it at night. I said that that wasn't what I had in mind, so he said he'd call me back with another time and date. He didn't, and within a couple of days I had to go overseas for a few weeks, so I just let it slide. A WOFTAM for both of us.

I had previously contacted European Autotech, Mona Vale, who quoted 4 hours labour, and needed the car for the day. I don't know if they have courtesy cars, but Mona Vale isn't the most convenient location unless you live on the Northern Beaches, which is why I'd tried the first guy.

When I came back from the trip, upon the advice of another member I'd had PM contact with, I spoke with Matt at Camden GTI, who quoted 2 hours labour + $50 for the coding, and provides courtesy cars. I live on the edge of the inner west, and Matt is actually at Campbelltown not Camden, less than 5 minutes from the M5 exit. That makes Camden GTI a very convenient 35 minutes from my place.

Bottom line, I just spent a fair chunk of cash on a new car. I don't want cheap work done on it, but I don't want to pay through the nose for quality work. And looking at a lot of comments on here re dealers, expensive work doesn't always equate to quality work. I don't know about the park sensors. Mine were on the car when I bought it, but for the BT install I can highly recommend Camden GTI. Matt was very aware that he was taking the dash apart on a car with 2000 km on the clock. I'm very impressed with his professionalism, and I'm very happy with the result. The job took longer than 2 hours, but I was only billed for the quoted 2 hours. My wife has a Golf VI 2.0 TDI, and based on my dealings with Camden GTI to date, we'll be taking both cars to Camden GTI for future servicings.

I think this was meant for me. I bought a 1Z0 035 729 E from Poland. I could've got the "Premium" unit, but I don't have an RSAP handset, and don't SMS at the best of times, so why anyone would need it on an in car display while doing 110 kmh is beyond me. A full description here, eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

Camden GTI did the install and coding for me. Matt will only deal with genuine VAG BT units. I got a first class job at a sensible price. The only difference to a dealer fit out is that the BT unit is installed under the seat by dealers. This requires a few more bits and bobs (bracket, carpet cover piece, screws, and plugs), but mine is located behind the climate control panel on the dash. The unit is protected, and there are no rattles. It could always be relocated under the seat at a later time should I feel the urge to go and buy the extra bits and do so, but I really don't see the need.

On the subject of dealer fitted BT units, in Australia the dealers charge the full monty for what in my view is the sub-standard Volk-L BT unit. It's functionality is limited, and I'd rather have a Fiscon than the Volk-L. Given the strength of the Aussie dollar at the moment it's my opinion that importing a unit and having it independantly installed and coded is a pretty good option given the limited functionality of locally available units compared with the functionality of those available from overseas. If you are going to import, make sure you buy the compatible harness with the BT unit. The unit on it's own is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. And as always, buyer beware. Make sure you get the right unit to suit your head unit.

As I said in my initial reply, I don't know about the sensors, you'ld have to ask Matt. Have a look at my reply to dArK5aDOw above about the in dash as opposed to underseat installation. If you absolutely must have the BT unit under the seat, then I'm sure Matt would do it for you, but as there is more time involved to remove panels and run the harness, it will no doubt cost more.
