    Inner Sydney dealer servicing

After Jarvin's handing back their franchise and the demise of Damelians, has anyone used Rockdale or Trivett Rosebery for servicing? I went to a specialist for my 24mth service in January, but now have a possible warranty issue, so want to head back into the fold.

2010 TDI manual Scout. The issue itself is an intermittent fault when accelerating where in second gear the car cuts power at around 2000rpm. On Saturday, changing down to first or up to third solved the issue, and I have had a couple of trips where the issue didn't occur at all. The last night it happened at about 1500rpm in third as well

I used Trivett in Parramatta for a warranty claim recently. They fitted me in straight away, ordered the part, let me drive home and I went down and had the part fitted next day while I waited. Excellent service. Assuming their service ethos is company wide, I see it no different to go to the Trivett in Rosebery.

I had my injector pipe recall mod done at Trivett Rosebery/Alexandria. They did it on a while-u-wait basis, and the service reception area was quite cosy nestled in the middle of a showroom between gleaming new VWs on one side, and Jags on the other. The service reception staff were polite and friendly, and all up it was a pleasant enough experience. None of that matters a jot as far as the quality of workmanship goes, but if the management policy is to have the same level of professionalism in the workshop as displayed in the customer service area, which I expect it is, then they would be worth trying for a service.

Note that I said Trivett Rosebery/Alexandria. Sales is at Rosebery, but Service is on O'Riordon Street, Alexandria. Easy access and undercover valet drop off. Another thing to mention is that if you are as fussy about how your car is washed as I am then if you do go there tell them not to wash it, because if you don't they will.

I just noticed that you're at Dulwich Hill. Silver wagon? Next to the golf course? Anyhow, a non-dealer option for you is CamdenGTI at Cambelltown. Stop laughing, and I'll tell you why. Log book service at a sensible price, and it's not as mad as it sounds when considering peak hour traffic through Marrickville, Sydenham, St Peters, and Alexandria, then gettting there and back again to pick your car up and bring it home. CamdenGTI is just over 30mins drive from Bexley Road on ramp straight up the M5 against the AM peak traffic flow. Matt has a good crew up there, and will give you a loan car for the duration of the service for the cost of topping the tank up when you drop it back. I've used them before and wouldn't recommend them if I didn't think they warranted consideration.

Thanks - I know exactly where you're talking about. A neighbour is finance manager for the Harley dealership there.

Near the golf course, yes, just one street back. There is another silver Scout around plus a white and a grey, plus at least 3 other octys, one or two Superbs (one on my recommendation) and even a couple of Roomsters. Thanks for the Camden rec., but I work in the city so access that direction is pretty important. Technically Rockdale is the best dealer servicing for access (VW Village at Kensington did my last service), but I've heard no reports of there.

My company is actually above the trivetts in Alexandria, a workmate there is planning to get a Skoda, but left the company recently. He could have had it serviced at his own office. Parking is bad in their building as trivetts and the Harley and Peugeot place use up 80% of the office car parking stuffing it up for everyone else.

I've had 15k service and a recall fix performed at Rockdale Skoda. They also supplied the factory map DVD which the defunct dealer in Melbourne failed to supply.
Pretty happy with them overall, they have been pretty helpful.

Thanks guys, looks as though either would be fine. Was speaking to a mate last night who since the Damelian collapse has used Trivett and been happy, so will head there.

The exhaust system warning light finally came on last night, so even the car thinks something is wrong now!

    +1 for Parramatta.

They did a quick check of fault code read outs after my lights started flashing at start up. All good. Whilst it was there they reprogrammed the reverse sensor cancellation for the trailer. After 2 previous falied attempts at Steve Jarvin it finally works. Apparently they claimed it was incorrectly set up by Jarvin's.

Just an update to this-I went with Trivetts Alexandria in the end. The issue was a dud exhaust pressure sensor, replaced under warranty. They needed to keep the car overnight as the part was a next day delivery, but they were polite and kept me fully updated. Wash and vacuum included, for a service charge to me of zero.

A convenient place for me to go back to for my 36k if I don't go for an alltrack before then. And nice to see all the Astons, Jags and Rollers too
