servicing a skoda octavia, approximate costs?

Ok, so I am getting my Skoda, most likely end of this week.

As I am buying it on a lease, i need to work out an approximate budget for servicing. So on an Octavia 2.0 TDI DSG, does anyone know the approximate charges of servicing it at the recommended intervals?

Im also wondering approximately what sort of interval the tyres will need changing.

The sales guy where I am buying from suggested that servicing would be around $380 then $460 alternating, but that sounds a little low to be expecting a dealer to charge. Is it realistic?

That's about the same as I have been quoted and I would say it's probably reasonably accurate. There isn't a lot to do until you start to look at cam belts at around 90,000km.
Tyres will depend on which ones you get, how you drive, what roads you drive on and whether you keep the pressures up correctly. I've heard of people in the UK killing a pair of fronts in 10k miles but realistically I would think 40-50k km's should be achievable with some sensible driving (I assume we are talking VRS).

No, not VRS, just the straight plain Elegance TDI 2.0 DSG. But servicing charges would be similar im guessing.

Recently had the first service (15,000km) on my RS. Cost was $333.00 which was pretty comparable to my previous car, a Honda.

Actually servicing costs aren't too bad considering that it's every 15,000km or 12 months, whichever comes first. Although I think I'll get an extra oil change in between to be on the safe side even though it uses full synthetic oil.

Our Octavia TSI goes in for a first, 15k service this week. Dealer at Wollongong tells me it will cost $384.

I have a 2008 diesel RS with DSG that was recently about due for the 12 month/15,000 service. I sent e-mails to three of the dealers in the Sydney area (I didn't bother with the fourth dealer in Sydney because they never replied to my e-mails when I was shopping around for a car), the dealer in Wollongong, the dealer in Newcastle and my local dealer in Canberra.

I received the following quotes (in ascending order): $280 to $320 (which was later somehow "amended" to $330), $325, $345, $350, $385 and $415.20.

I went with the dealer that quoted me $325 (Northshore) and was very happy with them. In fact, the final bill came in under $320 (a pleasant surprise). They were in Sydney but I was going there anyway and it was still much cheaper than I would have paid in Canberra.

15000km service was $151.85 plus oil. I supplied Castrol Edge Sport 5w30 which was $30 at Supercheap.
30000km was $270.35 including brake fluid flush & cabin filter.
    45000km was $257.10 including a replacement Air Filter @ $31

    All at Wakelings at Campbelltown.

edit: Just have a browse of the service schedule.
Air Filter change interval is every 90,000km. For the $31 I'm glad they did it at 45,000km as I checked it about 10,000km back & it was getting discoloured.

I can't see any change interval for the fuel filter.

Yesterday I was quoted $270 from Steve Jarvin Skoda, or $230 from Ultra Tune Burwood for the 15k service. Ultra Tune highlighted the inflated price due to special oil specs for the car. I have 2 bottles of Penrite full synthetic diesel (compliant) oil in the garage so I might ask Steve Jarvin if they can deduct the price of oil to get it done there cheaper (and get my towbar programming fixed at the same time...)

    Which Penrite?
I supplied my own oil for the 15k service because the dealer wanted $110 & I could get 502.00 for $30. He didn't mind. By the 30k service he'd gone to Valvoline & dropped his price to something more reasonable.
