I did exactly the same as you but kept my xr5 which is now my mrs car.
Paid 39200 delivered to my door in black for a my11.
Love the car! Comfy to drive and as much power as the xr5. And not only that get approx 100 km more off a tank which is the same size!
The only thing that's Better on the xr5 is the seats. I do miss my leather recaros.

I thought I had a good price at the time, but looks like I paid too much in comparison to what they are going for now. I paid $42k on the road and I got myn off the first boat when the FL came out. Still, at the time this was bargain compared with the competition. I bargained pretty hard with the three SE QLD dealerships.

I was lucky enough to land a deal on a TSI RS Liftback Manual (The combo we wanted!) for just under 35k on road. We bought it at the start of the year and is a 03/10 build with a 12/10 compliance.

Paid I think $43k onroad for mine which at the time seemed pretty decent (about a $4k discount). I find it hard to believe a distributor is chopping 25% off the new car price as some claim. And if so I have the ****s because that is a sure way to lower the value of the resale.

I know of a guy who picked one up recently from Rick Damelian Skoda, brand new Dec 2010-complied RS liftback, manual, was advertised for $35k driveaway, there are definitely RS's out there going for between $35-$38k driveaway so long as you accept the colour, trim specs etc... most seem to be liftbacks, I doubt many are optioned up at all... but I reckon I could definitely shave a thou or two off what I paid 12 months ago for my DSG wagon!

I popped into Brisbane Prestige today, and they had a MY 2010 liftback RS that was ticketed at $38500. (Would include photo here if attachments were available).

Has anyone got the Xenon with dynamic angle control? If so how much was it listed as an option?

What is the standard RS headlamp setup? Is it LED DRL with a combination of HID and halogens or are low and high beam both halogens? The brochure doesn't indicate what the setup is and I'm not familiar enough with all the RS features to know.
Don't want to pay for an option that is unnecessary.

    Thanks

Its Halogen with the LED DRL unless you spec it with the Xenons. From memory its only single Xenons not both even as an option.

as woofy mentioned, the xenons r only for the low beam, if optioned. u still get the halogen for high beam on the rs.
the non rs octavias r the same.

in terms of price....this was 1 yr ago.
