    Cheers
i had stage 1 ecu from yonks ago.
getting the apr downpipe comes with a stage 2 tune. u have to get the ecu retuned with an aftermarket dp, regardless of what brand it is.
the apr exhaust is on the pointy end, costing 2.5k. that includes downpipe, catback, tune and fitting.

As for the dsg tune, it:-
    - modifies the torque limiter & capacity to 500nm.
    - modifies Drive mode for better driveability. doesn't keep changing its mind about which gears to select. holds them better.
    - modified Sports mode for better useability. doesn't hold on for too long, and makes sports mode actually fun to drive. u should hear the downshifts when combined with the apr exhaust!!
    - faster shift times. i really haven't noticed this.
    - clutch shudder reduced. never had the issue before the tune, nor do i have it now, so i can't comment.
    - less clutch slip, hence longer life for gearbox and clutch packs.

If you do it again, i can recommend the AdrenalinR range of resonators and mufflers from NZ. I purchased a custom 10" long resonator (4" body diameter and 3" pipe) to use on my Golf R's aftermarket downpipe and it was beautifully made, and all stainless steel inside and out.

just keep in mind a catback section designed for a golf will NOT fit an octavia. mk5 or mk6 golf, doesn't matter.
u need one designed for a jetta.

the apr one i got is designed for a mk5 jetta.

downpipe alone - golf/jetta will both work for an octavia.

    Never said perfect.
It will work after adjusting the length of the dp.

    Ok thanks for the clarification.

So this would fit my Mk 2 vRS Octavia Wagon with some length adjustment on the DP? Is that the only adjustment required?

Gti Mk5/6 down pipe brand new

If I was then to return to Stock DP for whatever reason, I assume that means I've stuffed the above purchased DP for future re-sale to anyone other than a Mk 2 vRS?

as per your link to another thread in post #15 above, yes - u'll be limiting future re-sale to only a mk2 octavia, once the dp is shortened to mate with ur stock catback.
