The best chance the dealer has in diagnosing the problem, is for them to plug in the diagnostic computer while the warning light and/or message is showing (this obviously means the engine needs to be running) because live faults can be easier to diagnose than intermittent faults.

The dealer should only need to plug in the computer and just record whatever fault/s are showing. Once they determine what parts need to be replaced/adjusted/whatever, you should then make arrangements to fix it on a later date (or fix it on the spot if the parts are on hand and the dealer's work schedule isn't full). This should all be covered warranty, of course.

I know this can be very impractical for anyone, but I think it's the best chance for success as the fault appears to be very intermittent.

These faults come up for a reason - restarting the engine may act as a "reset" switch and make the message disappear, but don't confuse that for a resolution to an issue.

Yes, I know you are correct...but I have kind of just "let it go through to the keeper" each time it has dissappeared, hoping it was just a small glitch. Life is just so busy that I have not had the spare day to go running around to the dealer...

But....I am not one to be too stupid...safety is not something to be messed with.

I have emailed a service dealer now asking for a priority booking.
    I will keep you informed.

As long as the brakes are functioning correctly on a mechanical level, I don't think you need to be overly concerned. As long as you have some common sense, you'll be fine.

The message I was trying to convey is that, if the fault continually props up (even on an intermittent basis), it probably needs looking at.

Unless you arrive at the workshop with the fault 'live', I get the feeling they'll just say, "no fault found" - but I hope I'm wrong.

There's nothing worse than intermittent faults, and electrical ones are the worst - plenty of potential to do your (and the technician's) head in. Good luck.

So...It has stopped doing it again, which means whenever I endeavour to take it in, the error is not there...so it may present a difficulty when they try to diagnose it.

So annoying when it happens...then I forget about it ...until it happens again!

The error may not be evident on the MFD, but it will have logged in the onboard diagnostics module, so will present itself to the workshop software when requested. Even if you then go and clear the fault codes, it still records that a fault has been logged and cleared for a particular module eg ABS module or whatever.
So take it in regardless of the status on the MFD.
