I don't know exacts, I've never bothered to calculate it, so it is probably 5%.
And the speedo reads fast, not slow!!

I think you're using the opposite expression to say the same thing... Anyway, I believe the legislation now requires that speedos not read lower than actual speed, but can read above actual speed. No more +\-

Speedo reading is like 7-8% out for legalities.
Are you sure? What about the digital speed readout on the MFD? Mine tracks the analogue speedo exactly and both are around 5% out.

With the analogue speedo, how does it operate? Does it get a series of pulses to get the needle to move and hold?

The only other thing then is if the OBD displays the readout before it goes to the MFD, but this is also going to be a little out.

Of all the devices, a GPS speed indication is going to be far more accurate.

The ADR has a formula with a % value and a + fixed limit. That is the speedometer cannot read below the true speed. It must read the exact speed or higher (i.e. on the safe side as far as infringing is concerned).

Yes, the Victorian tolerance is absurd. I wish the police would also stick to the other conditions of using a Laser/Radar unit. Funny how they latch on to one thing and forget all the others.

the MFD is the same as the speedo

the ODB/ECU is the correct one. the polar FIS uses the ODB/ECU readout. ive been through speed cameras at the speed limit (as per ODB/ECU) and have not been booked

If you haven't changed your wheel size the OBD reading should be just as accurate. The mathematics is simple enough, it's never been about not being able to get it right, it's about precaution. No need for that during OBD diagnostics, you only want the most accurate info. Any error due to tyre wear etc would be no more inaccurate than GPS positioning error.

Not sure about Golf 6, but on the Golf 5 you can get the OBD speed from the hidden climatronics menu, and this speed readout which is displayed in the climatronics temperature screen is spot on with the GPS. I suspect the MFD readout on Golf 6 is adjusted post-OBD so it matches your speedo.

Hit a snag with the 360 Infinte unit - the OBDII plug is not usable due to cable coming out sideways
There are a few ways around this - I'll put it aside for now and come back to it later

2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels

the OBD port unclips from the panel. that might help you plug it in and test

Any updates, interested to see how it works, and what fitting it was like? I see the thoughts of the HUD-e, which was a shame, I had my eye on one of these. Hoped the Infinity would be better. I really kind of like the idea of the speedo and rev count on the windscreen.

What I would give for all info on a headsup display such as speed, revs, gear, nav directions, radio station, song name etc etc etc...
