    got the satnav dvd...

......put it in, but nothing happens.

dealer told me to put it in, and the process will take approx. 20mins to complete.

so i got home, put it in (ignition off, radio on).....no message/info is shown. it continues doing wat it was doing before - i.e. playing hdd music.

when i eject the dvd - it says "ejecting navigation dvd..."
then it says something like "validating", then continues playing the hdd music.

how do i know its done something? was the satnav maps saved?
how do i check wat version maps i have?

i'm guessing the maps on the dvd was not any newer than wat already there, and hence it didn't do anything.

Cant say it was any hassle in the Superb.. It should be the same Unit..

I did it with the car running though.. and well it just works..

I tried matching my partners iPhone with the bluetooth and well it wont at all.. but thats ok as i dont have a crappy iPhone, and the Mozart connected and worked in seconds.

Mine did the same thing when I put it in. I read in the owners manual that if the Columbus does nothing when the DVD is inserted the unit already has that version loaded.
Your navigation & maps work right?

exactly wat i was going to report back.
turns out they had pre-loaded the v3 map prior to me picking the car.
so effectively, there was nothing to update when i put the dvd in.

my navigation & maps were working from day i had it.
essentially they give me the satnav map on dvd, as is required with every new car with factory fit satnav.

it would b nice though, to be able to check on the unit itself to find out wat version it is running, including firmware, hardware etc etc.
