Golf GTI suspension into an Octy Elegance?

can anyone think of any reason why MkV GTI suspension (dampers, springs, tophats) wouldn't fit / work in an Octavia Elegance?

AFAIK, all the mounting points, geometry, etc are the same.

I'm thinking spring rates might not be perfect but not a showstopper.

    how much drop?

Also, swaybars - anyone know if the mount points match up & what the difference in diameters are?

Well, I can tell you that the GTI suspension would bolt straight onto the Octavia RS, including swaybars. As for the Elegance, I can't say? I would estimate a 30-40mm drop. The RS sat approx 20mm higher than the GTI, and the Elegance would be another 15-20mm higher (I think).

Biggest issue would be exrta weight over rear end.

^ Correct, the Eibachs I bought for the Skoda have a slightly higher load rating for the rear springs than the GTI version.

Lowers the RS to normal GTI height (about 20mm), but I believe they fit all Octavia's. JKM Performance in the UK did a good deal on the price. 115GBP + 85GBP for a 3 day DHL delivery.

I have posted pictures in a thread somewhere in the Skoda section. If you search my user name & the word "spring", I'm sure it'll show up.
