Thanks for the advice. Is a wax or sealant something that only needs to be done once in a while? I don't like the idea of weekly waxes or mucking around.

Good wax every 3-6 months depending how anal you are. Good sealant lasts a bit longer - maybe 12 months.

I think Nanolex is popular among the time poor.

Your best bet is to talk to the detailers. My mates in MEL go to Damien at Final Inspection about every 12 months.

CCP can probably tell you who their melbourne person is for nano-technology sealants.

That would be Mr Detail in 73 Poath Rd Murrumbeena, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia 3163. I attended the CCP detailing clinic there earlier this year - a good $40 investment.

Sounds like a goer. Mr Detail is close to me. Might give them a ring tomorrow.

Mr Detail said for $440 I can get the nanolex which should last 2.5 to 3 years. Sounds like decent value.

The price is competitive but I'd halve the time estimate unless that includes some type of maintenance regime by the vehicle owner between applications.

There are a few threads on Nanolex in the detailing section.

Just buy the nanolex and do it yourself. That's what I do. Nanolex costs around $60 and you get around 3-4 whole car applications out of that. I do it about every 6-12 mths depending on how quickly the dirt starts to stick to it again. To say that nanolex will last 2-3 years is a big ask, but then again, I live in Qld so perhaps the sun degrades it quicker up here?

Basically said if I use the reactivating shampoo from nanolex and take care with the car and keep it garaged etc then it should last a few years.
