Make sure that the turn indicators are off otherwise the parking lights will be on on the side the indicators would be lighting up normally.
    That sounds plausible

You might want to check that you have no accessories plugged in that are running even with the ignition turned off.

I have been going through things, but could not find anything on it. I have had something plugged in for over an hour with the ignition off and the alarm/central locking set, and the LED is still showing. There is a note in the manual that you have to have the ignition on to use them, however not here.

    Under which section is it?

    Thanks.

    did u retro fit a columbus (rns510)?

i've heard of the these units draining the battery when retro-fitted to the pre-fl models.
    something due to the canbus.

Sorry, had a look but can't find the reference. My 98 Golf had the same feature so I assume it was a universal standard for VW group cars. Mayne I'm wrong.

If you switch of ignition & remove keys then turn on radio/cd, how long does that go for? It should be a similar amount of time.

I use the 30 minute feature to charge my phone/GPS.
