When I had an MY16 Octavia with seat memory I was surprised to find that I had to hold the button until the seat stopped moving. Previous cars you just tapped it and it moved to the position, might be related to your issue.
Cheers,

Hi all,
Missus just brought a new MY18 Skoda Octavia RS Wagon in blue. Impressive car! I previously had a MY14 Golf GTI Performance, but this RS is so much better. More tech, more space, similar performance.
One question I have is about the electric seat memory. I like to have the seat down as low as it will go. I've saved the position using the buttons on the seat (using my key and profile), however whenever I go back to my saved seat settings, it won't go fully down, stopping approx 10mm from full-down position. Is this normal? Does the seat not like being down all the way?

over in the briskoda forum, i've seen this come up a couple of times.
not just in the octavia, but also happens in the Superbs.
for some reason, the memory seats will not stay at the extreme/max lowest position between restarts. it will always be a cm or two from max.
no one has mentioned a fix/solution.....

Mine does this and I find it annoying as I am tall and like the seat as low as possible.
I found that the seat will move without the button being held if the door is open and the car isn't on.
My Audi works similarly for its memory passenger seat. Door has to be open for the seat to be moved without holding the button.

Mine also does this. I assumed it was something to do with the design engineers having redundancy in the limits of movement, ie: the mechanisms which allow the seat to move in it's various directions, the memory settings must be set with a "failsafe" to automatically adjust it slightly in from being the maximum setting , so that it doesn't cause any issues with fouling the mechanism.... although I can't see how having your seat permanently set at 100% of allowable position, is any different to having it permanently set at 98%.
And mine also does the "hold the button while sitting in the seat, but just press it once, if nobody is in the seat/door open"

if you go through the settings and turn off the ability to have different driver settings you will find the seats will stay lowered

Yes! As all have said, I had this issue too.
Do as VR28LT has mentioned above and it will fix it.
