Set up wha? I have no idea about these things.
Was looking into the Provent, but haven't had much time to do any decent googling.

Look in the deisel section. Can't remember the thread but it's like permanently cleaning the inlet.

I used to run electronic water / meth injection on my 2nd & 3rd cars - XT Falcon & a Capri. Worked well on the Falcon. Nothing could help the Capri.

those things (IMO) are dangerous. water/meth setups were to cool the charged air to prevent pinging. FMICs and engine developments removed the need for these. when the water/meth runs out and you dont have access to either, what do you do then?

if you want to keep the inlet manifold clean, use an oil catch can and run a cleaner through it regularly. also good quality oils prevent clogging and take the car on long trips so everything stays hot for a long time, not only does that help the intake, it also assists with removing carbon buildups

If you add the water/meth injector & change nothing else then when it runs out you lose nothing.

I don't think I ever ran out previously. Biggest issue was clogged jets.

It isn't hard to carry a 2 litre milk bottle of water in the boot.

I already use quality oils changed every 7500km & 90% of my trips are 45km+ at motorway speed.

then chances are most of us here will probably have no problems due to long trips and the oil can get up to operating temperature and stay there for a while.

I thought that you change the oil every 15,000km?

Not the last 30,00km. I was given 17L of Castrol 502.00 in exchange for a carton of beer & had 5L of Shell 507.00 sitting on the shelf so I thought I better use it before it went "off". So I've done 2 interim changes & have another coming up next month.

Daughter will start learning by then, so it will be lots of short trips, therefore "severe service" so will probably keep it up.
