    DSG Thumping Jerking

    Hi Guys,

I've recently bought a 2012 march built compliance only in 11/2013 vRS TDI Liftback with currently 8000km on the clock . I've recently bought DTUK and fitted it with map 3.1+. I do not know whether it's me or not but I realise in the morning when I start the car and move from P to D and press throttle slowly (like getting out of a car park) the car jerk and i can feel that the car jerks forward. It might be me pressing the throttle too quick after engaging the D gear.

Anyone experiences this ?Am I thinking too much? or maybe it's the DTUK that i need to lower the map?

Take the box out and see if it goes away. Not many people have DTUK boxes, so I doubt you get a personal experiences.

I'd like to get a better understanding.
Does this jerk only happen when you first put it into drive? Or does it happen whenever you start from a stand still?

Does it happen if you take your foot off the brake and don't apply throttle / apply little throttle?

Can you operate the throttle and get the car to operate without a jerk?

The clutch control solenoid and associated valve (part of the Mechatronics Unit) should operate the clutch in a manner that never jerks. The latest DSG firmware allows quite a bit of clutch riding in 1st and 2nd to ensure that there’s no rough engagement, if you get on the throttle fast it should allow it to ride.

    Hi Harlie,

the DSG Jerks only when I strat the car then from P to D. It never jerks when I'm at the traffic lights waiting.

I've tested yesterday, After starting the car I changed the gear from P to D but then let it creep instead of pressing the throttle it still jerk.

So what I am gonna do is send it into Skoda to get it checked out but first will remove Dtuk. Sucks that it use to be a dealer near me but now it's closed and I have to travelled 45 mins just to get the car check.
