My Kia with the R2.2 CRDi was BEAUTIFUL... The 6spd w/ torque converter, however, was not... MUCH prefer my steaming lump of torque with a side of clutch!
EDIT: I have hill hold assist on both forwards and reverse. Its nice - although the majority of the time, more annoying than useful.

Caution with left foot braking while accelerating on these cars.
The electronics are set up in cars these days that prevent the throttle body opening while the brake and accelerator are applied together.
It's a design to prevent the good old "line locking" and P platers doing brake jobs.
We had a problem with a Transporter doing the same at work.
It turned out to be the combination of left foot braking and accelerating was causing the van to shut down.
Once we started using the handbrake, all good.
really? on my car I can use the throttle while being on the brake. no I don't mean launch control.
Guy clarified this in another thread
If you are on the accellerator and press the brakes the ECU will cut the throttle
If you are on the brakes and press the throttle, this is allowed
I haven't tried either - no idea
