    Door latch microswitch issues

    Hey guys!
So, a while ago, a friend of mine bought this Octavia 2 whose drivers door latch(?) mechanism was kinda squeaking and it was clear there was a lot of dust and dirt, but we didn't want to go as far as to remove the lock and clear the whole thing out, so he chose to spray some wd40 on it.
For a while it did work, but after a month or so it started to collect dust and dirt again and now it has quite some friction up to the point where if he opens the door, the microswitch doesn't detect it was opened and to make the car recognize the open door, you gotta push up on the door latch(?).
My question is, since i'm 100% sure it's not the microswitch, if we remove the door trim and locking mechanism and clear the thing out, are we going to fix the issue?(disassembling the whole door trim and lock is quite difficult since neither of us have much mechanical knowledge, so basically I'm asking because I don't want to do all this just to find out there's nothing we can do.)
Note: I'll atach a picture of what i call a door latch, I don't know exactly how the thing is called and that's why I used question marks.
Also, I know this image is from an Octavia I, it's the closest thing I could find since I have no picture of the actual door.
