Does turning Zenons on anf Off wear them out?

Every time a car with automatic on/off zenons is started indoors such as a garage, the zenon lights come on until the car is backed out into daylight. My question is does this wear them out prematurely?

Like all sources of illumination they have a life span.
I believe that the life span is in the 2500-4000 hour range which equates to something like 10 years average use in a car.

While very frequent switching on and off will reduce the eventual life of HID globes, it is unlikely to be a problem for most owners (and good quality globes are available for reasonable prices these days as long as you are prepared to shop around a bit).
