I reckon it depends on the customer and salespeople probably get excited and make a big deal when customers are excited and making a big deal. I'm no nonsense and just want to pick the car up. To me, service is a full tank of fuel, everything in order and minimising the BS I have to go through to drive away. IMO all the frills and cuddles are just driving up the cost of servicing at dealers.

My welcome pack, including skoda assist pack was sent via mail. otherwise the rest was all in person.

My experience of picking up my car from the dealer was memorable.
Twas nicely wrapped in skoda green velvet on the showroom floor; the dealer princple was there to present the keys; pictures taken; a one on one with dealer, spending 15 mins showing me all the important buttons/settings and other key points.

Kudos to Colin at Lennock Skoda.

Ahh so that's what a Welcome Pack looks like. I got my car in July 2014. STILL haven't got a Welcome Pack after ringing Skoda Australia TWICE. Told me both times they had sent it. Given up.....at least I've now seen one.

I got the same treatment from Colin when I bought my first Skoda, it was brilliant. Good to hear that he's still there, I was going to email him about ordering a car when I get back to Australia. Just waiting to see the pricing on a Scout.

Colin is the guy who has been dealing with me since May last year. ......

I wonder if I will get anything? I have asked for the car not to be pre delivery detailed, so I suspect the velvet cover won't be an option Dealer fails to provide new car documentation: Octavia manual, log book and spare key ....
That was back in nov 2010.....must b changing times and raising costs - hard times.
