Wow, that's a stunning torque figure. My TSI at stage 1 ran 245bhp and 436Nm on a Shark map - the torque is what really makes the car fly (acceleration!) and at that level its going to feel like its trying to rip the tyres off!
His torque is a beesdcik over 400Nm. The 627Nm is tractive effort on the rollers - probably because the car was in 4th gear which isn't 1:1.
Nice figures & it looks like it would be a corker around town having that nice fat curve all in at 3000rpm.
edit: Bluefrog. What mods have you done to the engine so far & can you give an impression of what differences (if any) they made please?

carandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums
u just keep on making us more n more jealous eh!!!!!
1st it was the outside, n now its the inside bits that's also looking good to.
not bad figures of 160kW & 400Nm with the revo tune![]()

and I like it .. a lot, hehe ... there's a reason why they use them as cop cars in europe
FYI to all ye TSI FL-Octy and GTI mk6 owners - all it takes to get these extremely tasty torque figures is a stage 1 tune from Revo, GIAC, APR etc etc (I imagine at stage 1 they're all relatively similar, give or take). TSI definitely seems to have a little more potential than the pre-FL / GTI mk5 FSI engine ... certainly has much better injection fueling.
Rob sometimes indeed it does! Although the Nitto NT05 softer compound tyres are extremely grippy, they pull like crazy when one tyre loses traction
hey Brad, she's definitely fun around town mate. Re the 1:1, I asked the dyno guys at RTR if they could run it in 3rd as the car is truly psychotic in 2nd and 3rd - they said that they had to run it in 4th so to get 1:1 (this may have actually translated to 'as close as possible to 1:1' ???)
The cat-back exhaust probably only accounts for negligible gains (significant aural benefits however!), and the ITG intake went in after the dyno run. I'm not sure yet whether or not the intake makes any low-end gains, but the KSHHHHH, KSSSHHHHHH it makes all day long that can be heard many carlengths away is worth the $500 I paid for it
No other engine mods .. yet (although I may well go bigger turbo later in the year) .. only other functional changes are the KW V3 coilovers and Nitto rubber. Supaloy control arms and bushes, and a torque arm insert will be going on soon ... I'll let you know how they change handling and traction.
The guys at RTR were very helpful and informative - apparently with some ecu tweaks to the air to fuel ratio the car will likely gain another 30nm. They also thought that the fat torque curve could be made even fatter and most likely widened another 1000rpm or so with relative ease. I need to talk to Revo some more about this.
JR you don't have to be jealous
