I spent nearly all my working life in the car industry or around it and know most of the tricks. I have never owned a new car because I was always in and out of them every day and they became boring and I could never bring myself to buy one because they were (are) a total waste of money. In my case I was always going to buy something and drove quite a few cars before the Skoda and the Skoda is the first car to push my buttons since I used to ferry Jags and Range Rovers interstate for a living. I am the original cynic when it comes to cars. Yes, there are all sorts of sales techniques and I have used some myself, this just happens to be one. I don't think you analogy is quite right but close none the less as I could always have it and deprivation was never a factor.

Not at that price and the interior is wrong. I thought some one on this forum had been offered the car after the show was finished.

No it is not. Here is the one from the show:
    2010 SKODA SUPERB ELEGANCE DSG 3T MY11 Cars For Sale in VIC - carsales.com.au - carsales.com.au
How do I know this? I was offered it whilst it was on the floor of the show because of the massive delays with my order. But I stuck to my wish list because it didn't have KESSY, 3 spoke steering wheel (and was the diesel variant) so I decided to wait for my ordered one. Having seen it in the flesh on sunny days and overcast days I decided I didn't like the colour so changed my order to storm blue.

Oh sorry, fair enough. Yeah I remember you commenting about it and I vividly remember sitting in it .

65K for a show car, next please. I don't recall it having that colour interior, maybe it is just the photos not showing the true colour. I thought it was a light tan/caramel colour but that could be old timers disease setting in. If they pull about 10K off it they can ring me.
