Thumbs up Childish - but it gets the brand noticed.

It may seem childish to some and after doing it myself I felt a bit that way.

Well while I was out late night shopping with my fair lady last night I spent a bit of time in stores / shops that had lots of Laptops / Computers (ulocked) hooked up to the net. So what did I do, well I went to all of them and set the home page to be skoda and brought up the Octavia RS page. Then waited by the side as people visited the machines and listened to the comments. I must say most of the comments centred on how they had not heard or knew little about Skoda.

    Well you do now............

It may not be the best form of advertising but it certainly made alot of people stop and look.

    Guerilla advertising - nice.

Probably more effective than the junk ads that Skoda air!

It's common at Mac stores to the point where the apple stores get sick of it.

Hey man that's really cool, and i will add your right, it is far more effective than anything that Skoda have done or ever tried to achieve. Simple, novel and effective, i like it a lot

It's still a shame that they get comments from target audience's saying they have know nothing about the brand. It is their biggest downfall but good on ya for doing your part to spread the word

I was looking at my Flickr account on an iMac one day in an effort to convince myself I need an iMac (I know I do but new lenses seem to take preference) and somebody looking over my shoulder asked where they could get the photo on screen to use as wallpaper. When I said it was mine and they could buy a copy they changed their mind.

That made me laugh (in a good way).

But personally....why bother to educate the "great unwashed" ? Most won't ever care, and personally, I like the secrets that dwell within my garage. If there were 5 in the street, well.....I'd be driving something else.

I would probably be the same. It's bad enough with an S3, an S5 and a Mk6 GTI in the street as it is.

Its a fair point and i must admit it was one of the reasons why i chose the Skoda.

Most of the masses ("great unwashed") wouldnt move away from your standard Ford / Holden anyway. I work with enough of these and when they know you are moving away from the norm they just dont get it. But i tell myself that it is only the truely educated that achieve enlightenment.

True. That is why we own a Skoda, and the unenlightened don't....
