OK so now not only did my brother-in-law buy an Octavia 118 TSI (brilliant silver, wagon, DSG) in October last year but now my mate James has just taken delivery of an Octavia 118 TSI (arctic green, manual, liftback)

So, a big shout out to my Skoda brothers!! In all honesty, these blokes have both had a few cars in their time and both knew what they were looking for in a quality driver's car, both had cross-shopped cars like the Mazda6, Kizashi, Jetta, Golf, and both decided the Octavia represented the best blend of performance, value for money and out-and-out driving pleasure.

Neither were VAG owners previously (nor any Euro cars for that matter), but they liked what they'd seen of my Octavia RS and were bold enough and brave enough to overcome any hesitancy (ie low brand awareness) and put a Skoda on their list to check out.

Here's what James had to say after his first weekend with his Octy (last weekend):

"I have never driven such a fantastic car in all my life and the more I drive it the less I see the faults in the [exterior] design anymore. Dare I say that it actually looks beautiful. I've never been quite so happy with a purchase in a long time. Loving the [arctic] green too."

I spent 2 hours at the Subaru dealership and nearly signed up for a Liberty GT. But I thought I had better head down to the Skoda to check out the Octavia RS and Superb.

After 10-15 minutes of hearing about the Superb and checking out an Ambition model on the yard, I knew I had to get a Superb 3.6 V6.

So I'm glad I made the trip down to the Skoda dealership!

Hopefully it will arrive at the dealership in July for either a late July or August delivery. My fingers are crossed for a mid April build either week 15 or 16.
