From memory each key has it's own mfd setting so if something used to work but changed it may be due to the other set of keys being used.

Even though these don't have drivers seat memory, some of the custom settings are still linked to each key.

I have RTFM and nothing immediately jumps out. It is for this reason i was asking the question. If i had found it in the FM i would have posted it in this thread.

The only reference in the manual that mentions automatic locking is in COMFORT and states

    Comfort*
You can set the following functions (depending on the equipment installed on the vehicle):

    Rain closing
On vehicles with rain sensor you can switch on or off the function for automatic closing of the windows and the
sliding/tilting roof in case of rain and locked vehicle. If it is not raining and the function is set, the windows including
the sliding/tilting roof are closed automatically after approx. 12 hours.

Door open Here you can switch on or off the functions for opening a single door and automatic closing.

As you can see it does not immediately jump out at you.
Putting it in with Door open did not make it easy.

i went through every menu in my maxidot, and there is nothing that lets me enable/disable the "auto-lock door" feature!
the only "door" reference is with regards to whether just the drivers door, or all the doors r unlocked with the remote key fob.

i remember reading on briskoda forum that the auto-lock feature needs to be enabled by the dealer. i'd say vcds is needed.

    UPDATE:
just went through the manual - according to page 39 -
"If you wish, you can have a specialist garage activate the automatic locking function."

so there u go....vcds it is.

In my car it's Convenience/Door Open/ and the there is a manual/automatic section and it's there.

Like many things Skoda it's cryptic but it's there I have just been out to the car to check it.

I have turned auto door locking on and I have turned if off again.

It's exactly where kiwi mentioned it. It's very cryptic in it's mfd description but that's it.

I didn't even realise there is such a feature, will check through the Maxidot! The missus would like that option I think.

Try page 44 of the manual

Unlocking or locking causes all the doors and the fuel filler cap to be unlocked or locked at the same time by the central locking system (as long as it is not set differently in the menu Setup (settings - Convenience information display).

    Bold type added by me.

This is interesting.I will check it out tomorrow with both keys.may explain why it works some times and not others. For the record I quite like the auto lock feature. Maybe the control freak in me.

Mine has always been enabled since new. Can't think of a reason why I would want to disable, considering the switch in on the centre console and two pulls of the handle unlocks it.
Just wondering if that also applies to the rear doors when pulled twice, as I would prefer my kids not unlock/open the doors when playing around. Anyone?
