    capped service on the horizon?

    Hi all,

VW have introduced the capped price service. So the simply question is when Skoda will do the same? Or will Skoda do the same? It will be interesting to see what Skoda dealer quotes for the same service with Golf or Jetta.

Has anyone recently been quoted? Notice any price movements?

Given the fact that Skoda did not provide the same 5yr warranty on transmission, there probably is not much hope there.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

Looking at a Golf TDI wagon capped service prices (nearest to my Scout), the first year is the same as my 15k was 2yrs+ ago, the 30k also cheaper ($75 cheaper, but that price did include pollen filter etc., which the capped price doesn't), and 45k also cheaper, but again probably accounted for by consumables.

VAG servicing costs have been one of the real issues on which they are bashed in some places. Extending capped servicing to Skoda would be nice - let's see.

I'm sincerely hoping that the new guy is in there to shake things up....and is the process of doing so and not just because Matt W chucked a fit over having no control with Skoda and left in discust. You want someone to be there to drive things, and not just to be a stepping stone to a higher job in VAG.

Which reminds me, anyone else at Richmond Skoda ever been told its the training ground for Zagames before they move to the other franchises...a few of the sales people have told me that there, and it really instills confidence that you are a valued customer....

The dealer i got my rs from also does VW. The skoda section cracked it over skoda not getting fixed price servicing. The dealer has brought in capped price servicing matching the VW prices and back dated all purchases to 1/1/13

The rs will get fixed price servicing as per a golf GTD.

This is only for this dealer though.

He must have had some control. Skoda Australia spent FOUR YEARS worth of marketing budget in six months last year. I feel very sorry for the new CEO.

But they did a good job, I reckon.
Perhaps they should increase the marketing budget.

I have no idea what kind of control Matt had, what I meant was I hoped the new guy was coming to shake things up and wasn't there because Matt gave up....and is just a caretaker.

Who knows what kind of effect that the Skoda Stadium etc will have, but much less people in the Eastern states will say "whats a Skoda?" Not so sure it was the best choice as it's probably completely unknown by anyone outside of VIC/NSW, but the Aus Open worked well for Kia and Ford are probably very much regretting giving that one up.....they are hardly making inroads with the Falcon which was the aim of moving to more motorsport.....

If they do some ads like the current Volvo series showing the tech and safety etc etc and the clever features with the new Octy, they will do well. People remember those kinds of things. Usually the Skoda ads show some kind of clever thing unrelated to the car and completely miss the opportunity here to show an advantage of the car itself.
