canbus gateway upgrade zenec nc-2010

Hoping someone with a bit more know how than me could help me out with this.

I went in to a local zenec reseller to check out a new unit for my 2008 skoda octavia elegance. The rep told me i cannot get MFD navigation, climate controll or parking sensor integration into the unit due to the car being pre facelift and not having the right orginal stereo and canbus gateway.

Can I obtain these features simply by upgrading my canbus gateway? or will this lead to a whole new basket of problems and not worth the hassle?

Has any one been able to activate these features on a pre FL skoda with a zenec unit before?

I too was faced with the hassle of Zenec resellers not knowing what was required and due to the high cost of the unit itself plus other parts and install etc. I bailed and went for a chinese aftermarket unit. So far everything works fine except the stupid gps signal which seems to have the CBF attitude towards locating GPS satellites hence either losing signal or can't find one half the time. Asides from that, all is good and only cost be $500 landed and easily self installed.

Good luck on the zenec and please keep us updated. Will be interesting to know.
