I dont want to get the new wheels put on a day or two before some tech has to take them off again to work on the brakes etc...
More chance of them getting damaged.
and I dont want to put in the new lower springs before the workshop sees the car...then possibly uses those as an excuse not to fix the brakes / abs....

have a look here for some great quality rims. I purchased my last ones here and the rims are great, prices and service is great too

    VAG 5x112, BM Autosport Ltd

Knock 20% off his list price as they include VAT, and add around £250 for delivery
Going way back to the start of this thread; there seem to be some great options at that BM Autosport link. Might chase some of these up.

How would they compare quality wise to the Apec package that Tigger promises us is happening?

Ha fair call, and good point, same reason I deferred a few of my ideas until I had some work done under warranty last week.

They've been on for something like 8,000km now... No dramas.

These two pages are cool - list of VW and Audi wheels (a little out of date/old)

18 inch VW wheels 5x112 bolt pattern

    18" Audi 5x112 wheels

Anybody vaguely thinking of a big brake upgrade should consider the Audi NS4 wheels
They have heaps of spoke clearance and can take the 330mm big brakes without the need for a wheel spacer

These NS4 wheels look pretty good on the Octavia
2012.1 Skoda Octavia VRS DSG Wagon - Carbonio cold air intake and pipe - HPA Motorsports BBK 355mm rotors 6 pot calipers
APR Stage II ECU - APR 3" exhaust down pipe & high flow catalyst
APR/HP Roll bars - Eibach springs and Bilstien shocks
Supaloy lower control arms - Enkei 18*8 Wheels

They are probably a really good option for both performance and comfort
