Hopefully Skoda will come to the party, it's not as if this issue is unknown and service history of the vehicle shouldn't be an issue as there is no preventative maintenance of the 7 speed DSG during routine servicing.

    Cheers

I missed this, it's irrelevant if there is no service for the DSG, but I thought there was, maybe its the 6 spd I'm thinking of. But definitely low kms means nothing, it should have had a service every 12mths. Ours is at 60k and is 7 yrs old, but we still had the 105km service just recently as its based on time.

Yes, I believe you are correct, to the best of my knowledge, there is no service schedule for the 7 speed DSG, every 60,000 Km for the 6 speed.

Technically, as the 7 speed has no service schedule, it is irrelevant, I was more querying the information that was presented and thinking in terms that the case for a courtesy claim would look better if all servicing had been carried out according to the service schedule.

    Cheers

the 6 speed dsg is "wet", hence it needs to be serviced by changing the dsg oil.
the 7 speed dsg is "dry", it's sealed, hence no need to service.

Correct. Perhaps at this point before someone jumps in to correct us, we should note:-

    6 Speed DQ250 = wet clutch
    7 Speed DQ200 = dry clutch
    7 Speed DQ500 = wet clutch

Just trying to cover all bases! LOL

    correct.

also the DQ500 (7-dsg wet) is used by Audi.
Skoda doesn't use it in any of their models.
i'm not sure if VW use it any of theirs.

I wasn't sure if Skoda use the DQ500 but threw it in there because someone was bound to point out that there are 2 different 7 speed DSGs! LOL

I believe VW use the DQ500 in the Tiguan.

I think the Yeti 113TSI(petrol AWD with DSG) has the DQ500, as it required gear box oil changes, and the brochure stated it was a 7 speed. I could be wrong however, feel free to correct me.

unless there was a one of off special edition - i'm pretty sure no.

the DQ500 was only equiped, from factory on:-
    - Audi: Q3, RS3, TTRS;
    - VW: Transporter/Multivan/Caravelle, Tiguan.

no one else in VWAG family got it.

also the Yeti 112TSI, not 113TSI, only had 250Nm, which is within the capacity of the 7-speed DQ200.
    the DQ500 would've been overkill !!!

Skoda has manufactured the 7 speed DQ200 since Dec 2012 along with the 1.4 Litre 90-92KW,103-110KW TSI engines which
it ships to Wolfsburg for the Golf.
I would be interested to hear of problems since 2012 models with DQ200.
    Regards Graham.
