I just noticed they mention "stage 2" is just a high flow cat........

Anyone had a high flow cat priced up? if it's <500 i may do that first, before I send my ECU file to superchips for tuning. Curses! the damn power bug has gotten me already, and the cars only got 1600k's on it lmao.

Stage 3 looks like you need injectors & s3 turbo and a few other things......wifey def wont approve that....yet....ha ha

You should replace the downpipe and cat for stage 2.

The K04 from the S3 won't bolt in, it's quite different to the K03s on your Polo. Some tunes for a K04 also need injectors and a 3 inch MAF.

They should do some advertising, I didnt know they existed until after I spent my money. I would have happily spent another $50 odd to support a Oz company.

Sorry, not sure how to have that Footer at the bottom. I have a 2010 Octavia RS TSI, not a polo (although a polo gti would make a great "wifes" car )

Slightly OT, but i can't seem to find that in "my profile" - is this a pay for prem membership site? Happy to do so due to the amount of knowledge gained already!

Back OT so since its the 2L TSI engine......does it still need the downpipe and cat? or just the cat? I'd like it as stealth as possible, so just the cat would be great. I don't want to affect (greatly) reliability though as this is now my main family car. (other car is a Honda Jazz)

EDIT: after much bumbling on my part, have found the relevant section to edit!

Yeah, Sorry again, it's under settings isn't it.

Was just looking to see if there's and dowpipes off the shelf for your car but not found one yet.

I would not go Stage 2 or beyond with Bluefin or any of the other handheld devices. Once you get beyond a basic remap, there are too many variables that a "one size fits all" remap can't cover.

IMO, once you start doing intakes & exhaust, you have to pay a bit more, get some dyno time & tailor the map to suit.

It's ok....these aren't really the sort of cars that lend well to high power (i.e. FWD). If I wanted lots of power, I would have kept my v8 calais or, I can just jump on my gsxr1000. I just want a bit more than stock and to pep it up a bit. I feel pretty confident the bluefin will deliver that After all, its my family car that I drive my son around in, so can't get up to too much mischief.

Stage1 tune is a remap for a factory stock engine. Superchips know exactly what they are dealing with. Once you start introducing your own mods, they are just guessing what the maps should be. Somewhere on golfMKV there was a guy from UAE that was trying to get his Bluefin stage2 to work with his mods..... it was never right.

Even the stage 1 remap is expecting 100ron & reasonably cool weather due to Superchips being in Windsor (IIRC) - so in AUS, the engine management has to wind parameters back a fraction to compensate.

Anyway, fill yer boots. Just trying to save you a bit of pain.
